Today’s highlights:

  • Installed the instrument panel.

If anyone was wondering how thick the vertical walls of a tartan 30’s cockpit are they’re between 3/16 to 1/4” THICK! and the liner is over 1/8”. I could have put a little more time and care into the trim work, but this will work for now. I had to cut some liner out to accommodate the depth, but this will make it very easy to wire. I’ll have to get creative to create a closeout on the back for it.

  • Shed some light on the quarter berth by putting a new window in.

These Lewmar portlights are a well though out bit of kit. It was a very easy installation. This should improve living conditions in the quarter berth with better ventilation and sunlight. You can also yell at the helmsman from here.

  • Unlocked a new storage locker under the quarter berth.

I’ve been thinking about opening up this berth for storage for a while. It feels good to have finally taken the plunge. I still have some cleanup and trim work to do but the itchy part is done. There is quite a bit of shallow storage under there, and with the help of a gas stay it’s easy to get to.
