Broke out the stinky stuff again today to make, what is hopefully, the last mold I will build for this project. Its just a quick and dirty plywood and bondo mold for my cockpit instrument panel.

This will house the ignition, water temperature, oil pressure, amps, fuel level, hour metre, 2 x USB ports, DC outlet & a sub panel for switching things like nav lights and blowers.

I’ll most likely build the part out of carbon fibre offcuts I have from my old job and polyester resin. The plan is to laminate it tomorrow morning under vacuum at my buddy Gary’s shop. it should be ready to pop from the mold by mid day, especially if I set it in the sun.

If you look closely you can see the scribe lines scratched in to mark the cutouts. These scribes will appear in the final part saving me a step later. You may also notice I used some PVC tape to make some hinge pockets.

I finished the day working on the fuel system, running fuel lines and mounting valves/filters etc.
