September 1st
A windy, sunny day in South Haven.
I started by getting the top of the water tank bonded on. Leaving it off made it easy to tab everything in and paint, but to ensure a watertight fit I glued it on with epoxy. While it was still green I got a coat of Brewcoat on the seam for good measure.
As this cured I tacked over the the port side and worked on the monitor cabinet. Well done if you noticed my mistake. The monitor mount should be centred in its stowed position, I didn’t even think it may be off centre. Oops. I also cut down the table pedestal and mounted it for good.
After this, I switched back to the galley side and built the face. I then had to get some appliances in there to make sure things were fitting as intended, they didn’t… but I think I can make it work. The paint I used on the tank was thick enough to mess with the fit, I corrected it, but the tank top is still raised enough to make the water heater interfere with the counter top. I knew it was raised, didn’t think it was a problem at the time.
I finished the day by templating the countertop, I plan to cut it out first thing tomorrow.
